This Privacy Policy describes how MEMLEX (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (“Service”).

1. Information We Collect

• Account and Profile: name, email, password hash, settings, and subscription status (from our billing provider).
• Study Data: decks, cards, imports, responses, timing data, and analytics needed to provide study features.
• Usage Data: device info, approximate location, and logs for performance and security.
• Payments: processed by Paddle. We do not store full payment card numbers. Paddle provides us with limited transactional metadata (e.g., customer ID, plan, status).

2. How We Use Information

• Provide, personalize, and improve the Service (including spaced scheduling and AI features).
• Process subscriptions, invoicing, taxes, and receipts via Paddle.
• Detect abuse, ensure quality, and troubleshoot issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. AI Processing

When you use AI features (e.g., MCQ parsing, flashcard generation), we may send your inputs to our AI providers to generate outputs. We apply reasonable guardrails; however, outputs may contain errors. Review and edit before use.

4. Sharing

• Payment Processing: Paddle acts as merchant of record and processes payments, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and compliance.
• Vendors and Service Providers: hosting, analytics, and support providers under appropriate contracts.
• Legal and Safety: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and data subject to allowable exceptions.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; risks remain.

7. Your Rights

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

9. International Transfers
